Many of you have said William Douglas's sister Mary Ewing Barclay could be a line we could go through to find answers about James Barclay(-1838)
The Sharpe Family History was written by Daniel Paskins Barclay in 1993 and goes back to 1460s. It  includes William Douglas's sister Mary and her daughter Wren and Wren's children's children's names and where they lived. They, I am sure, are still alive. I found it interesting at the bottom in Grandpa's notes he said
"As a suggestion to the readers, why don't you start a correspondence with a distant family member, some day you might have the opportunity to meet that person."
